This time of year is the best for movies because screeners start floating around and I can watch films, still in the theatre, in the comfort of my own home. These last couple of weeks I’ve watched “The Bucket List,” “No Country for Old Men” and “There Will Be Blood.”
In comparison to what is being made today, I think the older big-budget Hollywood films had a certain level of quaintness and much more character than the current ones. I have a feeling I won’t be looking back on these times and thinking the majority of films made right now are great, quaint, or anything remotely good.
Not everything backed by a major studio is rubbish though. I don’t want to spoil these two films, but these films are VERY worth seeing. The endings are not traditional, so don’t look for them to be, but please do find time to see them.
