Considering that this lady & I have been longing for this film since the Summer, how surprised was I when it was being offered for free OnDemand in Portland? I had to argue for 15 minutes to have it turned back on and to override the television owner’s veto. “OF COURSE I WANT TO WATCH ‘HOWARD THE DUCK’ YOU SON OF A BITCH!” How could I not?
After landing on Earth, Howard gets a job in a bath house. Not sicking duck or quacking people off. (Har har, I know) He is hired to clean up and to give people fresh towels. He does this for a bit before quitting the job, saving the world and managing Leah Thompson’s successful band.
The movie was just as amazing as I remember and the worse part was that I wasn’t able to share this experience with Amy, especially since I was only a couple of hours away. I did call and text her though so she could be in the know.
Truth be told, the movie faltered for me in its second half, but I am still happy I saw it.
